All persons are continually exposed by multiple routes to a wide range of chemicals and other physiological stressors. When exceptional chemical exposures occur, the direct effects of the body may be acute or chronic, including significant brain, lung, liver and kidney effects and damage. However, lesser exposures over longer periods of time may compromise the immune system, resulting indirectly in the development of cancers, epilepsies, and other debilitating and possibly life-threatening health effects. Dr. Ritchie has spent the majority of his professional life researching the effects of multiple industrial, commercial, military and pharmacological chemical exposures on human health.
